We are happy to announce we will be offering online credit recovery and acceleration for students in grades 9-12, here at Borden Chapel, through our partnership with Knowledge First Academy and Career Institute.
With the voucher program for qualifying families these classes can be free! Next year, the State of Texas is providing tuition assistance to attend private and home school. Those of you interested, please sign up! For parents interested in the Texas Education Freedom Program next year, the following information is for you.
Beginning February 4, 2026, parents were able to begin to submit applications for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program. Education freedom accounts are designed to open doors, expand opportunities, and give each Texas child the chance to learn. The portal will close at midnight on Tuesday, March 17th. Please note that there is NO RUSH. The parent who applies today has the exact same chance of receiving a TEFA account as the parent that applies at 11:59pm on March 17th. However, we do encourage gathering materials ahead of time in case you have any unforeseen issues.
When signing up, please remember Knowledge-First Academy is a PRIVATE SCHOOL NOT A HOME SCHOOL. In order to choose Knowledge-First next year, type in KNOWLEDGE or the ZIP CODE: 77063.

ALL APPLICANTS NEED
- Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number for the parent.
- SSN for each child.
- Form 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, for 2024 or 2025.
TEXAS RESIDENCY DOCUMENTS
- Texas Driver’s license number or state ID number. If your drivers license or state ID number cannot be verified, proof of residency can be established by uploading one of the following:
- Utility Bill;
- Lease Agreement.
- Mortgage Statement; or
- Voter Registration Certificate.
STUDENT DOCUMENTS
- If your child’s SSN cannot be verified, proof of lawful status can be established by uploading one of the following:
- Birth Certificate.
- Report of Birth Abroad.
- Certificate of Naturalization.
- Certificate of Citizenship; or
- Other official documentation affirming lawful admission.
